Lots of activity here over the last week or so. I’ve now pretty-much officially given up the diskless PBX plan. I’ve pressed the old dual-Athlon box into service as a VMware Server platform, and since it’s running CentOS I decided to install Asterisk@Home on it and use it as the PBX (I was going to run an AAH guest until I realised that it wouldn’t have access to the ISDN card).
The VMware/Asterisk machine is installed in the upstairs “data closet”, and I’m going to have to get eagle decommissioned sharpish to get noise and heat levels back to reasonable levels (two machines in there is a bit much).
In other news, MailScanner has been installed on enterprise so that role could be removed from eagle. MailScanner is not in the portage tree yet so it took a little beating to get it installed, but I like the result. I’m keen to set up an automated process (well, any process will do as I never had one before) to train the Bayesian filter in SpamAssassin to pick up more spam, as Chuck is receiving almost as much spam now as I do (and Spud doesn’t tell me how much he’s getting).
